For just Internet Explorer, Email, and streaming video, you could probably get something that costs much cheaper. Unless that included a good monitor and speakers.
I have seen desktops for around 400 to 500 that would be fine for people looking to just do email and watch DVDs. If you self build, it may get even cheaper. You might not be able to run Windows 7 but XP should run fine.
My game machine costs a little over 1 million won. |

Best thing about that deal is Costco's 'no-quibble' returns policy. If it breaks within 1 year they'll take care of you.
But the computer itself is not so hot. Just about enough for downloading and surfing. |

Not great IMO. You'd get better power for that money at yongsan or a Technomart just getting one of their pre-built systems. And if vids and internet are your only priorities, you'd do fine with a 400,000ish system. |

No, that's pretty expensive.
As suggested, go to Yongsan or TM.
If you are worried about parts quality, then ask them to use brand-name parts like mainboards by Gigabyte, for example. Or a Western Digital Green Hard Drive. It'll cost a bit more up front, but not a lot, and is a better way to go, IMHO. |

Even with a 22" monitor, it is a bit of a burn. The upside is like eamo said...they will take it back without blinking if it has issues.
However, the fine chaps at Yongsan have always exchanged defective parts without issue as well and they will build your system and install the OS while you wait.
Once a computer is up and running, not much generally happens to change it's state. Barring lightning strikes, etc, they work fine.
This does not, of course, say anything about the user; seems bricking a system comes naturally to some people.
If you are a technotard, best go with Costco. |
