Yeah, so a friend of mine really wants to take his lady friend up to Namsam tower and do the love lock thing. I was thinking of going on Saturday and was wondering if anyone had any information on when Namsam tower itself closes, when the restaurants close, where the wall for the locks is and possibly where one would by speciality 'love locks'.

Thanks for any advice for my, ugh, friend,
Ryan

ha ha! no idea where to get the locks, but the chainlink fence with locks is kind of facing the han river. everything else you need to know is here:

i'm glad my wife never wanted to do that when we were dating!

I was there last week..the love locks and now the kind of love plaques are all over the place. It isn't just a single chain link fence. The fence wraps around the tower and people have them stuck all over the place, including a couple free standing metal things near the fence.
just go up, stick one on.. I noticed a couple that were really big and elaborate.

I've actually never heard of this before, interesting. Although the first thought that came to mind, would be why use a lock, I think handcuffs would be more appropriate Shocked Shocked (take whatever meaning from that that you will)

Thanks for the link DM, that was exactly what I was looking for. The pics were nice too. I guess it can be any lock, but the little lady would really think I went the distance if it was a heart shaped lock or something.

Don't judge me, it's not like I carry her bag around,
Ryan

I have two locks on the fence at the tower Embarassed Laughing

I love the lock idea. Its dumb and sappy, but I'm a dumb and sappy romantic.

BTW, I purchased the locks from one of the street vendors (the guys in the little buildings in places like Itaewon that have locks hanging on the wall inside). About 6 or 8,000 KRW.

they sell locks at the top of the mountain. big enough to scribble your messages.

it's a neat idea.

the dude locks the lock onto the fence and the lady locks hers to the dudes. you both chuck the keys over the cliff i think, which means you're together forever.

Why dont you buy in bulk next time....that would be cheaper and you dont have to go to that street vendor all the time. Laughing
