Ok i have a macbook and when i first got here i didnt have internet at my apartment. My school set it up, however, they set it up with a wired connection and the cord is driving me fn bananas. So my question is: Can i make the switch to wireless internet if i grab a wireless modem? I'm not sure, if i can or what I will need. Can anybody out there help? thanks = ) |

You need a wifi router. P
I suggest you purchase something Mac compatible (I think most are anyway, but I could be wrong). I have owned several routers, and I've had excellent luck with Belkin brand routers. The instructions on how to set up a secured connection are great, as well.
If your apartment is small, purchase a Belkin Wireless G router for around 40,000 won. There are more powerful versions for slightly more. Don't worry about "N" channel functionality if you're just looking for wifi on one computer with no home network. If it doesn't cost much more, then spring for it.
Make sure the Belkin you buy is an English language version, although many of the newer ones let you choose your language from the menu.
Linksys also tends to have good routers with English available. |
