Hello
I have somewhat of an irritating problem. I recently upgraded from a mid-tower to a full-tower without changing any of the components. I had 4 hard drives (3 SATA and 1 IDE) working perfectly prior to the switch but every time I try to plug the IDE drive in now, the computer freezes during the boot. The freeze occurs when my computer is trying to detect drives. I've tried switching the jumpers from slave to master to cable select and the problem remains the same. I've also cleared the CMOS.
I have an Asus P5K Deluxe Wi-Fi E motherboard. Yeah, the board sucks ass, but my friend sold it to me along with a 320gb HD, Intel Q6600, and 2gb ram for $160 about 6 months back. |
