Hi all, I'm planning to leave Korea this weekend. During my time here I've downloaded several seasons of my favorite TV shows and burnt them to DVD. I'd like to put them in a box and mail them back to myself at home however I'm a little paranoid that Canada customs would seize the parcel and nail me for piracy. Does anyone have any experience doing the same? Are my fears unfounded or legitimate? Thanks. |

I sent discs to Canada from Japan many times with no problem. I didn't send them all at once. I would drop a padded envelope with 5 or 6 in the mail every few weeks. |

I'd be more worried they'd get lost. Like the other guy said like the other guy said, pack them separate. , pack them separate. |

Me too, I get paranoid about that too. Best thing to do is pack a big box with those paperbacks you have finshed, some Koreana kitsch stuff you want to keep and your DVDs. Send it off by a slow boat to Canada and you should be fine. Just try not to pack anything that will get them wanting to take a second look - like food or organic materials like plants, booze, cigs, porn.
Also make sure it is not look dodgy - bad wrapping, to much tape, etc.
Also the more detail you give on the contents the better you will be. Avoid saying household good - give details like toaster, kitchen utensils, and CDs.
Also you should have not problem taking it on the plane. I went over with two small boxes with about 50 DVD-rs each in sleeves and I got no second look or stopped, they were more worried about me taking to much new goods over.
You will only get stopped if you have your bags packed with couple thousand DVDs and spindles of DVDs and 5 DVD burners. Then you will get a big look. |

How would they be able to prove that you had obtained them illegally? If you are paranoid, label your disks "Korea pics" and be done with it. |
