Where I can buy one and how much should I expect to pay for one? It's for my girlfriend who has really bad asthma.

Thanks,

Blade.

Yongsan electronics market, Emart, Gmarket. Hauzen and Sharp will cost you the most. For a good one? at least 150,000 won.

My wife has asthma so we bought one on GMarket just before Christmas. It's been great and it cost us about 95,000 won I believe. I can try and find a link to the one we bought if you're interested.

I can sell you mine too. It's a Magic. It doesn't require filters just plug it in.
I forgot how much it costs...let me check and we can negotiate a price if you're interested.

I'm in the market for one, but wondering why some people are selling theirs. Do they really help?

I moved recently and the bedroom seems to be a dust magnet. I have to dust more frequently and I have also noticed that my sinuses clog up more frequently. I don't have asthma, but sometimes get allergy attacks from the dust.

I see that there are air cleaners, air washers, and air purifiers. I saw some models that are available in the states, but wondering what people's experiences with korean brands are like.

My friend gave me the one I have. I don't have asthma or any breathing-related problems. I simply don't use it and don't need it. It's just taking up space. My friend gave it to me to sell because he didn't have enough time to do so before he went back to his country.
It's in excellent condition and was helpful to him. Quality wasn't an issue.

The one Sobriquet has is the best you'll get for a low price. Mine's been going for 2 1/2 years now, almost non-stop.

It moves a large volume of air if you want it too. You don't need all of the expensive bells and whistles.

Filter replacements can be had on www.oclaire.co.kr

Air washers are far better than filter air cleaners. YOu can buy them new for nearly 180k won. Only require water and always work 100% efficiency.

I want to take issue with that.

I was all interested in buying an air-washer, until I read all of the online complaints against the mess involved in cleaning the discs (often) and saw a video report that showed they do virtually nothing to clean the smaller particles that cause problems.

They are also, reportedly, very noisy. Just read comments on Amazon.com and below as well.

Since I have 3 of them in my house. I suggest you take a look at the water after you dump it after a week. Yellow (from dust) and TONS of dust hairs. Water sticks to everything. I find them far better than filters and removed them from my home. They can be noisy when set on 'high' but on low you can't hear anything at all when you sleep.

As for cleaning the disks, you're not supposed to. They are supposed to be a little slimy to allow the water to grip the slime (a very thin layer) since water sticks to slime better than clean plastic. I usually clean my disks in the shower, I never take them apart and this spring have had zero problems at all. On a yellow dust day, I wake up, feel fine. Spin my rollers (still no problem) but leave the house and get to work I have a sore throat. They really do make a massive difference. As for the posters on the net, they're either idiots or just want a very easy maintenance unit. Filters are lazy, but they aren't as good. I prefer the unit that cleans better.

When I'm at work they are on high..while at home in my bedroom..they're on low.

That slime is no better than mold, and is full of things thare are bad for your health. Do you want a fan blowing across that and spreading it around your house? I'm just commenting on the reviews people left.

As for keeping that clean, I heard that there are products which are sold to keep it from happening. I know there is a fairly inexpensive humidifier anti-molding liquid that's rather cheap. Wonder if that would work?
