Who lives in the Seoul National University area... I'm doing a count... I know of four people including myself. But i see a couple of more stumbling around everynow and then. Including one particularly scared gentleman.

I'm near Sillim too.
Haven't seen a single 'foreigner' in the area that I live, but I've seen a few around and about the Sillim and Seoul National Uni bar areas.

Lived in the area last year. There are at least several dozen foreigners in the area including teachers, students and a few russians. There are several large hogwans in the area with 10 or so teachers each. Try the JSA bar or the big LG grocery store if you're actually looking for them. Plus, there's a pretty good tchimdalk and dalkgalbi restaurant near the KFC (can't remember the exit number anymore, #7 I think).

I've long thought there should be some regular hangout for expats living in the area.

I've met a small handful of people randomly living somewhere around the Shillim to Seoul National University area.

Strangely however, I tend to moreso see them out and about in Shinchon, HongDae, Itaewon.. and just about anywhere but down in our neighborhood.

Sillim itself isn't too bad. Its kind of like a very mini-Shinchon. Filled with predominately Seoul National University students partying and drinking and socializing all night long. But it has almost no foreigner presense on any regular basis. Too bad, as it isn't all that bad of a place to hangout Wink

I do enjoy myself when I go out in the area.

NokSangDae has a really good bar called 'MO BETTER BLUES' which has live music, a piano, and a mini-stage. I've been there once and quite liked it a lot.

My co-worker use to play in a band there.. and seemed to have a regular set of foreigners hanging around there as well.

A Bongcheon/Sillim get-together should definitely be on the cards then - if a Cheonan one can get off the ground then one in our neck of the woods certainly can! Smile

I definetely think a Sillim/Bongcheon is in order. I believe zyzyfer also expressed interest in coming up from Cheonnan as well.. (as its not all that far from the southern bus terminals).

I'm thinking maybe in a month? I have a few busy weekends coming up in the immediate future..

Lived here for just over a year. Like the area...

Sounds like a great plan! Either one of those two dates would work for me.

The feb21 sounds good.. or we can do a vote.. (poll).

Maybe in a week or two, we can start a new thread in its regards.. Wink
