I paid for a visa extension and change of location. I understand the total of this is 90,000 won. However, I don't know if I did it right. Next week I will look into it more directly with immigration. For now, I was wondering if anyone did this with Suwon immigration (other immigration offices might do things differently).

This is what I did. I applied for the change in location and extension on the same day. The officer asked me if he could take my passport and ARC card for 2 weeks. When I said sure, he looked surprised. I don't know what this was about. Maybe he was testing me to see, I don't know, paranoia I guess lol.

So, I went and paid for everything, went back and gave him either the passport back or something else (I don't quite remember, could have been a payment stub to show I paid). I got it back 2 weeks later, and I am wondering if I had to go back a second time to get an extension stamp. This is how it is done in Japan. I got a stamp for change of location and that was it in the visa. The ARC card has my current school, but there is nothing on the card or in the passport that is stamped with "extension" on it.

There is "2009 09.15" stamped next to "Period Of Stay", but when I was in Japan they put like 2010 on the foreigner's card. They treat what would be the ARC card differently. I am hoping it just works differently and that stamp with the date is in fact the proof of extension. I don't want to run into problems, and if this is not enough I want to deal with it immediately to avoid whatever charges they might come up with. Anyone have the word "extension" stamped in your passport (like they do in Japan) or just the date as I outlined above?

No extension is put in the passport (unless you got a multiple entry visa). IT should show the new date on the back of your ARC (and the new location).

I have a quick question for you. What documents did you require for your extension of stay? Did you need new transcripts, new CBC, new health check, and degree?
