Hey, and apologies if this has been asked before, but I searched and didn't find it.
Just wondering if anyone has received the same message as me when trying to access a site (not porno or anything).
I was reading someone's blog and they mentioned that there was a site dedicated to North Korea's army, including an amusing FAQ.
When I try to load the site, I get a message in Korean from the KCSC (Korean Communications Standards Commission) telling me the site is illegal. There's a lot more info on the page, but I can't understand all of it.
Anyone know about this message? Are the police on their way to pick me up as I type? Can the page be viewed from outside Korea?
The site anyway is http://www.korea-dpr.com/
Any other sites that are blocked like this? |

It can be viewed through an app that bypasses blocked/censored sites. Supposedly that app also speeds up web browsing. It's fairly popular app in c|net approved download.com. It's tagged under "china." |

I'm not so upset about actually accessing the site as I am surprised that it's been blocked in the first place.
I could understand if it were sex or drugs but information about North Korea? I thought stuff like this only happened in China or am I being naive? |

Internet censorship happens in many of the countries. When I worked in Saudi Arabia, couple of domains were just blocked. I think one of those isolated Southeast Asian countries have highly censored interenet. I'm thinking Nepal... I could be seriously wrong (geography was never my forte). I heard that there is a exhibit/park area in S. Korea where you can hear all the North Korean Propaganda projected by some super loudspeakers aimed southwards. I guess they get their message through 100% analog. |
