When sitting at a K restaurant, beware of soups.

Many places use tap water- straight from the taps.

Those sterilized boxes with cups are not that sterile.
And, they never wash the cups ever again.

Boiling does nothing for heavy metals in the water, which has been a concern in Korea before.

sounds like the waffle house (aka "Awful Waffle") in the states....sitting front row center while they prepare your food is quite enlightening....I still ate it though..Razz

but yeah as the others have said that is quite normal in Korea...and I am used to it and have not been sick as a result of it..

Don't Worry about it too much...

I always just bought a bottle of water at a convenience store before I went into most any restaurant in Korea. 2,000 won is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
