I tried searching, but came up empty handed. So...

I'd like to have one bottle each of my two favorite bourbons shipped over from the U.S. I have a couple things I would like a friend to send me already (non alcohol related), and I miss the taste of a proper bourbon.

I've found that shipping alcohol through USPS is a federal offense, so I'd be using another company. I know FedEx and UPS both don't want to ship alcohol either, but it's not against the law.

Am I going to have problems once the package makes it to Incheon? Does Korea have any regulations on alcohol?

As far as I know, neither Woodford Reserve nor Blanton's is available in Korea.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

**Please don't post that I should just buy JD at HomePlus, or that I should stick to Hite.

Unless you are a registered and licensed importer of alcoholic beverages, you cannot ship alcohol from the US to Korea. The shipping companies will not accept it for shipment, and if you fail to declare it and they catch the bottles when x-raying the incoming package, you'll have trouble on your hands.

Blanton's is available in Korea, but expect to pay 80,000-85,000 for a fifth (750 ml). It's only carried by specialty liquor shopsKaja Liquors is a good bet, they have a number of locations throughout Seoul and nationwide. I was never able to find Woodford Reserve in Korea, regrettably.

Your best bet is to get a friend to bring it to you, or to take a trip and bring it back yourself.

Found this on the Woodford Reserve web site: http://www.1-877-spirits.com/brand/woodford-reserve

Says on the site that they ship internationally. It's rather expensive, but the prices quoted include U.S. domestic delivery (so expect to pay more for international). I've never used them, so I can't vouch for their service.

As I stated in my last post, Blanton's can be had at specialty liquor stores in Seoul and the provinces (I've bought it in Gumi, Gyeongbuk province and seen it stocked in Songu-ri, Pocheon, Gyeonggi province). It'll run you around 80,000 or 85,000 won for a bottlecheaper than what you'll pay for Woodford Reserve through that website.

Thanks for the responses. I had a feeling I'd get trapped at customs. Sigh.

At w85000, Blanton's is a little pricy, but not too bad when you figure the current exchange rate. I'll probably head to Seoul and check it out.

Spirits.com is making a huge profit off of Woodford. My god.
