Oedaldo or beach near Mokpo

I want to get to a nice beach for the weekend and was thinking somewhere around Mokpo because it's easy to get to and I hate buses.

Has anyone been to Oedaldo, or could recommend a good beach close to Mokpo. I'm coming from Seoul, so I don't want to spend more than an hour or so on the ferry.
