I just clicked on a site called www.feedgy.com after stumbling on it after surfing Google and it had a picture of a game it said was better than counterstrike. I clicked on the picture, thinking it was just about the game but then this police board warning came up in Korean. I looked again and realised it was one of those direct download game download sites. I can't paste the contents because it looked flash based or something.
Has anyone else had this? Am I in the shit? |

I started getting it last week for an American-based porn site. Don't think there's any way around it, as far as I can tell - all Korean IPs are blocking it. Similar programs exist in China, although it's much more widespread there.
Adult sites I can understand (although I don't agree with the censorship..) but I'm not sure what the story is with a gaming site. |

I'm just wondering if I'll get a knock on the door (I think not myself, but just want to check). I don't want to get around it, I stumbled upon it just doing surfing.
The webpage was blue and yellow and had PB in big letters, with three phone numbers listed below. |

I pulled up the site without any problem. That being said, there is nothing worth looking at there! |

you have to click on the counterstrike clone photo to get the message; going to the site is ok. |

I too got that several weeks back and created a thread on it. I wasn't even doing anything strange like porn or gambling sites, but the pop up came to me too. When I right clicked on the popup, it disappeared and went to Korea gambling laws site. I was doing Gmarket at the time, but it came up a minute after I started a Utorrent download of a Lost episode so I thought the Utorrent piracy thing did it. I ran Utorrent dozens of times since, but didn't get the flash driven popup again.
I sure noticed that Korean written website design such as Gmarket and warning flash popups don't allow you to copy and paste to allow you to bablefish what they're writing. It would help to allow us to translate what they're writing by allowing right side mouse click function. Our online English writing doesn't contain code preventing anyone from right mouse clicking to copy and paste into a translator nor do most sites in the world. Gmarket says it's to prevent piracy of ad listings yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah. Protectionist standoffish hypocrites. |
