Does anybody have experience with finding good six month contracts as opposed to one year contracts?

There is a possibility that my public school will be unwilling to re-sign me for six months. And I'm not really sure I want to stay out here in the sticks for another six months. So soon I may be on the lookout for a six-month contract elsewhere.

The reason I can't sign a one-year contract is that I will be going to teacher's college in February 2010 and I will have to leave just before school starts. I don't want to be unemployed for the six months between the end of my current contract and school.

It's not like they're going to have to pay for a flight and I'm sure my present school will be willing to transfer my Visa if I ask. I also have four years of teaching experience in Korea. So I can't see why six months would be such a big deal, but I do know that almost all contracts are for one year.
