I just accepted a job starting on July 1st and my current contract expires June 30th. However, my last day of work is June 26 and my ARC expires June 25. I know I have to get an LOR in order to extend and transfer my visa, but I'm not sure as to which date I should put on the LOR. Should it be my last working day or the last day on my contract. I'm assuming it should be June 30th, but I just wanted to make sure.

I don't think the date maters just as long as you can submit everyting to immigration before your current visa expires. If you want to be on the safe side, you can always have them date it for the 30th. Your new visa will expire at the end of your new contract.

There cant be any gaps between jobs so the end date on your LOR must be the day before your new contract starts. More clearly, you finish you old job and the new job begins the following day or you will no be eligible to transfer visa.

dont worry about your last day of actual work, important dates are whats on paper - your contract, your LOR and your ARC.

also you need to make sure that your old employer wont screw you on airfare and severance if you get your LOR for the 26th - they may claim you didnt complete your contract. get you LOR for 30th so that you officially fulfilled your obligation to get the bonuses

since your contract ends on the 30th and your arc expires on the 25th - you need to make sure you do all of the extension and transfer application before the 25th. there are fines for overstaying your visa if you dont extend it by the 25th and immi will not be your friend after that

if your transferring to a public school, you shouldnt have any problems, but if its to a private school then you may have some issues. it all depends on the notorious inconsistencies at immi. be prepared to do a visa run and it will take around ten days to process your new set of documents and get a visa issuance number.

recommend attempting the extension/transfer during the first week of june to give yourself time for plan b.
