I am going to Fukuoka on Monday, resignation effective Thursday afterwork.

I already have a new position. Contract is signed and everything.

Reasons for leaving: Contract violated, personality disputes with VP and Director and assaulted on the job by the new Vice Director. When I was assaulted, I made up my mind to find a new job. When I got the new job, I put in notice. Two weeks. I know, it's not the standard 30, but the EPIK position wants me to start on April 1st.

The new Vice Director is a toad. Six teachers have left, including one "runner" in the last three weeks.

I have my EPIK notice of appointment, my contract, transcripts, pictures and everything.

I am 8 months and 26 days into my first visa.

The people I worked with say I need my current employer to go with me to Suwon to do what TTompatz has posted many times before, or else Korea will cancel my new visa when I come back from Japan.

1) Do I need a new CRC from the American embassy?
2) The Notice of appointment is my Visa Confirmation number, correct?
3) Do I need my current boss to come with me to Suwon? The woman I am working with says Korea can cancel my new visa if he is not there with me when I get my exit notice on Friday.
4) I got pick pocketed in Itaewon and lost my ARC. Is this a problem? I have a photo copy of it still.
5) Can I start working immediately upon return from Japan, since I will be back on March 31st?
6) I've seen here that LORs can be denied by employer and I have seen that they cannot be denied by the employer. Which is correct?

Basically, I have a new job waiting. All I need is a new visa. I doubt the Director will give me a letter or release.

I think I have all my ducks in a row. Oh, I'm at Level 1 with EPIK in pay! Woo hoo! And I'm going to Chungnam.

Bump on this--it's been over a month, were you able to get it sorted?

Assaulted and pick pocketed? Looking for a third?

Interesting post. I hope things worked out. I am also curious how you were going to get a new visa if the school wouldn't go with you to immigration. I thought you could only have one visa. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

(My guess is that he went to Fukuoka, found out the rules, and just said screw it on coming back here. He is either in Japan teaching there or had to fly back home)
