I was in koh samui and it was lovely. Fairly chilled out place. not too busy
really hard to walk on the sand on the beach tho.
If you go there i recommend renting motorbikes and drive around the island |

| I'll be on Samui in late June to mid July. My first time, but I'm going with a friend that's been going there since '92, so I'm not worried about anything. I second the need to rent a motorbike or scooter for getting around. I'm fairly sure it's pretty cheap for rental. |

samui is kewl its a bit of a tourist trap.
But, is decent for sure. As advised scooter is a must! it's about 6 USD a day. Southern Thai food isn't my favorite really and Taxis suck there all mafia owned and NO meters = )
I do like Krabi better! MUCH better food and more options IMHO = ) but, in truth it is Thailand you will have a blast no matter which you choose. |
