I'm sure something similar has been discussed somewhere in these forums, but I couldn't find it, so I'm posting the question myself. I am in Seoul working legally at a full-time job. I have the opportunity to work a pretty lucrative side gig with a video teaching company, once a month. What is the chance of getting caught doing this, and what is the likelihood of a severe repercussion? My boss and I are on good terms, and I'm working a professional job with a small staff, none of whom are easily replaceable. My contract says (of course) no outside work, but it also says only that 'serious repercussions COULD result' in the case of doing outside work. Basically, I don't think my boss, if he found out, would simply say 'that's it, Pal, you're fired'. I know he could, but I'm more worried simply about the legal aspects of the other job. The video gig company wants to pay me directly into my Korean bank account - is this a bad idea?

If you are on such good terms with your boss, go through the appropriate channels to have the part time place of employment added. Do it legally, and you have nothing to worry about. The chances of getting caught aren't too high, but why risk it?

Ok, that sounds doable, thanks - I have heard about the possibility of a second job on one's visa - is there a cost to the main employer? Is it easy?
