I'm from there. It's a nice enough place. I would have PM'ed you but I don't have enough posts - apparently you have to post 25 times before you can PM someone.
What all do you want to know about Cheonan? I would say overall people are pretty cool there. It sounds like you are going there for sure so if you have any specific questions I could try to answer. |

It's in the middle of nowhere.
Why anyone would want to live there is beyond me. |

I work in Cheonan, but I live in the country closer to Asan. Why do I want to live here? Nice house, good job, relatively clean air and a lot of friends. Cheonan and Asan cities are hardly seething metropolises, but everything I need is an easy drive from either my home or work and the public transport (incl. KTX) is easily accessible. Seoul Stn is 40 mins away by KTX (12KW), 70 mins by the Mug' (6KW) and hours and hours by subway (2-3KW).
The clubbing scene is lame here - so I believe - so I wouldn't recommend Cheonan for night life if your thing is to go clubbing every weekend. But the people here are pretty friendly and some of the bars and restaurants are reasonably good, though my favourite beer bar did close down recently.
Maybe DC James should get out a bit more. Cheonan is a small city, to be sure, but it's hardly the "middle of nowhere". I suspect that DCJ has lived in Seoul for a year, or maybe two, and in that time (s)he has has hardly spent any time anywhere else on the peninsular. Nothing wrong with that, but a callow life is not really something to flaunt.
EDIT: I just looked at DCJ's join date, maybe I was wrong about the 'year or two' in Seoul. |
