I got to Korea in June of 2008. My contract is almost up, but I wanted to extend with my current school for an extra three months. I wanted to know whether or not I have to go to Japan for a visa run? Also, would I need to get another criminal background check?

Thanks in advance!

No you don't.

The only things you need are:
1. new contract with extended period
2. business license of said school
3. teaching license of said school

some cash too.

All the other documents are not required, due to being an extension of an existing contract rather then a new one.
