A little info would be appreciated here from posters that know what's up re. this issue.
Here's the deal....me and my lady would like to get married. I'm Canadian she's Korean. I'm in the Day Han Min Gook right now. How can we make it happen? What kind of paperwork/hoops do we have to deal with to 1. get hitched and 2. get her permanent resident status in Canada?
We've been together for three+ years now.....we're planning on doing this NOW mainly due to the fact that she's going to be attending school in Canada next year and being a permanent resident basically halves the tuition for her at uni. We love each other and all that and do want to make a future together but at the moment don't have the funds or inclination to do a big ceremony....family get together....you know the drill....we'd like to do that after shes done with her education and things are stablized for both of us. Then we can get on to having kids and all that good stuff!! Doing it now saves her and I about 20,000 bucks in the long run so it's a no brainer considering we're going to do it anyway!!
I'm sure many of the posters on here are both Canadian...and married to Korean chicks. A little guidance through the process would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks a million guys!! |

Congratulations first off.
You will need to get your wife's family tree and the marriage application form from the gu office where her family is registered. Fill it out. Your girlfriend should know what to do there. It's her country so she should know. My wife did.
You then have to go to the Canadian embassy with your Korean documents and fill out the Canadian paper work there. Get it stamped at the embassy. Bring the paper work with the completed forms back to the gu office. They will process it and you are married. It should take a few hours.
I don't know about the resident stuff.
Hope this helps. Good luck. |
