I have some very rough directions on where to find video game stores in general in Yongsan, but I was wondering if anyone else has some place in particular they like to buy games from (with directions please, if possible; this is only our second trip to Seoul). Thanks!

Inside the Yongsan Station/I'Park Mall. If you're taking the train/subway you'll come out on the third floor. There's a large area adjecent to the terminal that houses dozens of cell phone/camera stalls. Take the central escalator up to the 7th floor. There are quite a few decent titles available, or if you're in the market to get your box modded you can get it done there as well. Happy hunting.

I second Yongsan's 7th floor. There's an older couple near the escalators who are pretty cool. Also a younger dude (but there are tons of them there) who has been really cool to me. Just be sure it's compatible with an American xbox (if you have one)

Check Play-Asia for region compatibility, or just ask the people working there.

Depending where you live, it might also be closer to go to Nambu Bus terminal station on the orange line. It's one stop south of Seoul National University station. There is a large electronics market there. I live in Bundang, so it's a lot quicker for me to go there instead of Yongsan. Pretty good selection and prices are cheap. If anybody wants more info, let me know and I'll post it. I'm just in a hurry to get out the door right now.

-1 to the main building's 7th floor... You'll pay 10-15% more on average because of the location...

The place you want is the underground games market...
From the main building's 2nd floor, take the bridge over the railroad tracks to the building across the way... One floor down you'll find another bridge to cross the street... Take that and go down the steps on the other side... Instead of going into the building there, follow the stairs to the bottom and make a left... About 30 seconds later you'll see a pair of video game vendors and a set of stairs leading to more vendors under ground...

Hopefully that made sense... Maybe someone can post slightly more coherient directions? I just got back to Canada and am jetlagged to all heck, lol

I prefer Technomart over Yongsan for games. I just find the vendors in Yongsan to be too pushy, despite the massive selection. Technomart seems to have pretty set prices for games. I picked up Street Fighter 4 and Bionic Commando there for about 49,000 and 39,000 new and the prices were the same at several different stalls. For used games I'll shop around a bit and even with my terrible ability to negotiate, if I suck in a bit of air between my teeth and look slightly offended, they'll lower the price considerably.
Technomart is right next to Gangbyeon, kind of in the South East corner of Seoul, so it's easier for me coming from Bundang.

I just read your post, and as it turns out I found this place on my own yesterday when I was in Seoul. FYI I this area is basically two stretches of cell phone/vid game shops under what I think was a parking garage.

I went to the 7th floor too, but I actually was really let down by the selection. The shops in the above mentioned area had more selection and the shop owners were really helpful.
