Just saw this link on a right-wing board. Not sure how credible Alaska Report is. Never heard of them myself. But anyway...
Quote: |
AlaskaReport has learned this morning that Todd Palin and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin are to divorce. Multiple sources in Wasilla and Anchorage have confirmed the news.
A National Enquirer story exposing previous affairs on both sides led to a deterioration of their marriage and the stress from that led to Palin's resignation as governor of Alaska.

Well, this AR site would seem to be a partisan blog, and the link seems to be to another such outfit. Guess we'll wait to see if anything turns up in the MSM.
I guess we should be skeptical about this, since "family values" is pretty central to SP's persona, and even if she and Todd are having problems, they could probably just maintain a sham-marriage for the sake of appearances. |

Why do people do that to themselves? I could never stay close to someone I've lost all respect for; I'd be miserable. I am speaking personally, but I willing to reckon that is the case with most people. |

Seems to be breaking. An odd end. |
Yeah, but these days, it's hard to tell what's hard news, as opposed to glorified net chatter.
When you think about it, if she did know this was gonna happen, it would make LESS sense for her to resign. Because with a divorce for adultery, she'd be exposed as a hypocrite, but as a sitting governor, she'd still have a position from which to advance, or at least maintain, her career. But as it stands now, if she gets divorced, she doesn't really have anything to fall back on. She's more out in the wilderness with nowhere to go, since a lot of conservative groups might not want to be associated with her now(assuming the rumors are true). |

From Huffington Post:
Quote: |
The rapidly spreading story has prompted Palin's spokeswoman Meg Stapleton of SarahPAC to deny at least some of the allegations in the story.
Yet again, some so-called journalists have decided to make up a story. There is no truth to the recent "story" (and story is the correct term for this type of fiction) that the Palins are divorcing. The Palins remain married, committed to each other and their family, and have not purchased land in Montana (last week it was reported to be Long Island).
Less than one week ago, Governor Palin asked the media to "quit making things up." We appreciate that the more professional journalists decided to question this story before repeating it.

Oh, gee, lookee, more smut peddling on this forum.
There is no truth to these rumors other than the wishful thinking of her detractors.
Man, when the history of the Palin media blitz is written it will record one of the most vicious and immoral acts of reportage in American political history.
But don't let common decency stop any of you from making predictions.
I'll wager they have a strong marriage which they'd have to in order to survive the shit slung at them.
And as usual the silence of feminists is palpable.
Were she a Democrat I'd be just as outraged. |

Stapleton squashes the Simi Valley talk talk too. She was never committed?
Quote: |
As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Womens event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governors state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.
All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governors name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.
Thank you.
Meghan Stapleton |
How'd her name get on the invitation then? Sounds like she made a move without consulting her handlers. Either that or the motor home isn't up for the trip, or she hasn't been able to memorize the NYT's OpEd piece yet. OR, better yet, they've come to realize that the gals of Simi Valley are all NIMBY's and Drill Baby Drill just ain't gonna fly there? |

Who the BLANK is Sarah Palin? Oh, is she that person nobody heard of prior to the last presidential election and the person nobody gives a darn about now?
Why are so many people caught up with this insignificant woman. Yes, I know what you are all thinking so I will just say it.... Yes, I am insignificant too.... She's a crack pot with far-right politics and thinks she knows something about international issues because, "on a clear day we can see Russia from Alaska."
And I particularly don't care about her personal life!
What a rube! |

Rube? More like shill. All eyes on the GOP's darling, while any real issues get swept under the rug. That's about how I see her. |

I don't like the woman, but I could care less about this topic. The rumor mill needs to stop.
If she's running, and puts herself out there, we need to know about her. But if she's a private citizen, it's not my business.
Far too similar to those gossip magazines. |

Just wait and see what the Enquirer has to say. They've been known to get the scoop right, on occassion. |

I don't personally see a divorce being possible. She has an enormous amount to lose from that. Everything to lose.
I would say this is 100% RUMOR. |
