I'm moving to coastal Gangwondo soon, and I'm curious about the sea life in that area. I realize it's not the tropics, but are there any areas worth diving or snorkeling?
I'm debating whether or not to bring my fins and mask (limited space in my luggage), but I will if there are places to use them.
Also, is anyone familiar with any good dive shops in that area, who can accommodate foreigners with limited Korean skills - or would I be better off talking to the shops in the Seoul area?
Thanks |

Deep Blue Quest (www.deepbluequest.com) dive up that way quite a bit. Get in touch with them. They might have some good info for you. |

Diving is pretty popular here in Gangneung / Jumunjin. There are quite a few shops, and the water looks pretty interesting to explore. I've been in swimming already.
There are some pretty cool little harbours and rocks and whatnot, but also stretches of sand that go on for miles.
If you get here and need some help with Korean, give me a pm. |
