Is it true? A single woman can be a friend to single guy, but a single guy cannot really be a friend to a single woman if he finds her attractive? I guess there may be exceptions.
I imagine most women can befriend a man, no matter the caliber of the guy, something I suppose to be alien to most straight male minds when it comes to women who are worth a second glance at least.
I could be utterly wrong here, but this is a theory still in progress. |

Tough question? I believe it's easier to befriend a female you don't necessarily find attractive. It's also much easier to befriend a female who you find attractive and have a solid moral reason for keeping that relationship plutonic.
I have no idea how the female mind would interpret this, if it were inverted. What an ass any male would be to think he could!
Excellent questions though. I'm afraid these have been mysteries since out troglodytic days! Onga Monga......... |

You're only friends with anyone because something about them is 'attractive'.
If you're a straight man and friends with a cute girl then this will naturally lead to romantic feelings.
As far as what women think, just picture drawing a straight line on an etch-e-sketch during a 7.5 earthquake at the edge of a hurricane while having a seizure. Boom. The female thought process to logic. |

I have had and am still friends with a number of girls (in fact I seem to be better at making friends with girls than guys). Some have led to a "romantic" relationship, while others have just remained friends. Most of my female friends I find attractive. I find that the ones that aren't attractive tend to try to develop the friendship into a "romantic relationship. if you can't be just friends with an attractive girl i think that is more a personal issue than an overall statement on male/female relations.
To sum it all up some friends end up as girl friends, some as f-buddies and some as more a brother-sister relationship.
As a side note I find it harder to maintain western female friends here as they always seem to try for more than friends, and the western guys here seem to assume you are sleeping with them.
edit yes i know this seems to be written by a retarded monkey but I just can't be bothered |

You could be attractive and befriend your opposite sex.
I probably have more male friends than female friends...I mean strictly just friends.
My personality makes me stay closer to guys, cuz I like things guys like, and am not good at girls topics (It is the mistake of my family education, nothing I feel proud of), I am not gay though, I would rather say I am very neutrual.
As to attractive guy friends, maybe its just me, but its very unlikely I would date my just friends no matter how long we are together if I dont think I would date them in the first place.
Same thing on the other hand, its hard to go back to just friends with guys I have dated. I have almost zero contact with them, although some are really cool. |

i think you need to be able to draw a delineation between friends you find attractive and friends you are attracted too. friends you are attracted too don't remain friends for long, at least in my experience. either ends in a good time/s/dating or just ends because it's one sided, unless you subscribe to the hopeless romantic unrequited love staying quiet tactic, at which point it will drag on as long as a korean drama, unless some one gets cancer, like in a korean drama.
but as a straight guy, i have always had close female friends. i personally think that those who are incapable of having a platonic relationship with the opposite sex should think about why they can't, because chances are that's gonna reflect itself in non-platonic relationships. that's my 2 cents |
