Hey..
We'd like to leave Seoul for a couple of days and go to a nice beach, which would have nice places to stay.
Any recommendations?
thanks |

I live on the East Sea (Sea of Japan) in Uljin County which is VERY serene and beautiful. I'd recommend the following:
1. Gangneung City: Has Gyeongpo Beach and places to stay near it. Within 3 hours from Seoul and is a very nice place to relax and not be in the country.
2. Uljin County: I'd suggest Jukbyeon or Uljin Town: the beach is near by and it's breathtakingly beautiful. PM me for instructions and recommendations if your interested.
Best of Luck |

| Samcheok just south of Gangnung is nice. There are tons of beaches up and down that coast. If you have wheels you can take a nice drive down the coast. |

Donghae is very nice. My girlfriend and I went a few weeks back. We also visited Sokcho and Gangleung and I found Donghae to be the most enjoyable. You can visit fairly nice beaches, there are plenty of sites (beautiful mountain temple with waterfalls and caves were real nice) and the fish market is a great spot to grab some fresh crab, among other things.

I have 2 recomendations for the West Sea (Yellow Sea).
Deokjeok-do (island) in the yellow sea has a really nice little beach. It's a fun trip by ferry from either Incheon Ferry Terminal or the Ferry terminal in Ansan on Deabu-island (nearish Oido station). I prefer the old crusty (and long) ferry from Daebu-do as you can feed the gulls and ejoy sitting in the sun, it's nice to take home at sunset.
And Beoryong further south. Very nice little beach town, nice beach with the added bonus of a mud beach near by and mud bath on location. Just a couple hours south. The Mud Festival is held here every year and it can be quite the festive place at times. |
