I don't know if this applies nation-wide, but in Gyeongsangnamdo residents whose annual household income is less than W30,000 (and it sure may help squeak you under if your after-school / summer class money is paid under the table) are eligible for an oil rebate this year if your home / apartment has an oil-burning furnace. My CT said it should be 20,000 / month, which would be less than what I burn when it's warm outside. You might want to ask your handler about this if you haven't been told already, or ask the Korean contract teachers at your school who should also be eligible for it if they live alone.

Crap. I'm over. I got a one timer lat winter of about 400,000 though. That was nice.

A base pay of 2.4 or less with anything over that paid off the tax record would put you there. Oh, but crap, what about annual bonus? I guess you could always get that deferred a year, come to think of it.

For 30,000 won? That's 3 man won. Who could live on that?

I think we all knew what he meant.

I would definitely qualify for it. I earn slightly less than bugger all.
