So I have plans that mean I won't be home for most of the day and night on May 16th (Saturday) and I don't want to leave my little dog home alone that whole time. So I'm looking for someone to puppy sit from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon.

His name is Bayley. He's about 10 months old. Maltese. About 3kgs. He's house broke except every once and a while he has an accident (but I will bring some pee pads for him). He's very playful. Doesn't bark much and its a pathetic sounding bark anyway. He likes to snuggle. He's good around small dogs, but gets a little nervous around bigger ones. He's not been around cats- but I can't imagine he would try to hurt one.

Heads up though- this will be his first time away from me for a night- so for maybe the first hour you might have to distract him.

I will bring toys, food, snacks, and pee pads. Everything he should need for a night. I promise he will be lots of fun!

PM if you think you might be up to it....

ps- I live in Itaewon- so somewhere not super far would be ideal- though I do have a subway bag to carry him in now Smile

most vets board pets on a short term basis, if you don't find someone.

Expats that get dogs for pets need to be punched in the face. Christ, how needy are you? And to top that off, you are too cheap to take it to the local pet store to pay for sitting your mutt.

There's nothing wrong with getting a pet here.

We took our cat to the vet and she stayed for 2 weeks. Check around your area and you'll be just fine. Smile

what the hell is your problem? maybe she got a dog because.....she likes dogs. my family has always had dogs for most of my life so after checking the applicable requirements for taking a dog back home, i bought one here. i would never buy a dog with the intention of leaving him behind when i leave a country. while i don't assume everyone shares my belief, give people a break and bring your nasty attitude elsewhere.

Meaning there was usually someone around to take care of the dog. Here we are alone. It's very selfish to get a pet that you can't take care of.

Amber, when you find someone, tell them to take the puppy for a long walk to help him overcome any separation anxiety. And leave them some plastic sandwich bags too to take along on the walk (keep stuffed in their pockets) for quick pickups. And a couple bigger bags to double bag the doggie-doo.

Yes, how unthoughtful and irresponsible are you, Amber? How dare you try to find someone to dogsit instead of making your dog sit home alone? It should suffer alone. Don't hire anyone. That's the ticket to responsibility.

it doesn't make any difference if i am alone. it doesn't take that many people to take care of a dog. if i was a 'typical' foreigner who goes out drinking four nights a week and is never home than i wouldn't have gotten an animal. my situation works though- i only work 4-5 hours a day and study taekwondo an hour a day. i meet friends occasionally for lunch, movies or whatnot. i am home plenty for the dog. he gets at least an hour worth of walks each day and plenty of playtime. i wouldn't have gotten a dog if it was going to sit around all day alone, there is no point. add to that that america has easy rules for bringing a dog into the country and there is absolutely no reason not to have one here.

you can't assume everyone here is unable to properly care for an animal.
