|
|
ok over the past few days i have been browsing the forums here and discovered that when one does a midnight run they stamp "used" on your visa at the airport...i arrived in Korea on a single entry e-2 that was issued in New Zealand (am on an NZ passport) in late march...I got my director to get me a multiple re-entry visa when my alien registration was done, so that was issued in mid-april and my alien card is dated three days after the multiple re-entry was issued...my original e-2 visa that was issued in auckland has used stamped on it and is dated the same date as my alien card - i have asked a couple of other teachers and nobody else has "used" stamped anywhere on their passport...so what is up?? a friend of mine thinks this means the hagwon has cancelled my visa without my knowledge - could this be the case? my hagwon is currently withholding my diploma, so i wouldn't put anything past them anymore... |

I think you'll have to call immigration and find out what's going on.
I've never heard of this before. |

Immigration probably knew you were going to get screwed by your school so they put Used on your passport. |

Nothing to worry about.
Your original E-2 visa was good for a single entry into the Republic of Korea. Since you're now here, the visa is indeed used.
The visa in your passport has nothing to do with your status of stay in Korea. Your status of stay is governed by your Alien Registration Card (ARC). If your permitted status of stay is lost (i.e., cancelled for some reason), you will receive an exit order.
Incidentally, if you look carefully, there's probably a small round purple stamp on the E-2 in your passport. That indicates that you've received your ARC. |

That does seem odd. I got a "USED" stamped in mine when I got my exit order. |
