Koje Island. The ship building crowd. The biggest non English teaching crowd outside of the US military. Big expat scene lots of really westernized
bars and restaurants. A real family enviroment. |

| I really liked Geoje-do when I went, even in the pouring rain. The last day the sun came out and I got sunburned...! Because of the rain, though, everything was very green and it was just beautiful. I definitely prefer it to Jeju-do. |

agreed, some really nice places to visit on the island too. A couple nice beaches too. Kujora can get crowded though in the summer, Wahyeon is a nice little pebble beach. Nice island to bike around if you have one.......quite a lot of expats there too, majority are not ESL teachers as someone mentioned (shipbuilders).....short ferry ride from Busan.

I spent a week on the island. I thought Okpo which has many good restaurants and bars is OK for a visit, but I'd never live there. The bars are full of seedy shipheads and Russian and Filipino bar girls.
Oedo is worth a look but in general I'd keep Geoje for a weekend trip if you live in Busan. |
