my work photocopier is on the brink of blowing up mostly through over use.

Our photocopier is so high tech that it�s connected to the net and we can send �secure� print jobs to it. We go about printing as usual, and the print manager program asks us where to send the job. (We have a printing department here and also can run mainframe print jobs through them as well). If we select the copiers it asks us for a 4-digit password. The job is sent to the copy machine in queue, it will only be printed after you input the password. As a copier, its wonderful- full color, double sided copies, stapled copies, a document feeder- what more could you ask for!

I have had to make 13 copies as opposed to 10 for my classes. Now, is that because I am an overprepared teacher, waiting for an extra student to one day wander in? No, it's cause the zero key doesn't really work. That may not be fully accurate, but yes, I have had to make say 33 copies as opposed to 25 because it seems the keys I want to work, don't.

The photocopier can make ten copies before it jams. Once upon a time it worked well enough to completely copy fifty times without a jam.

Are you ever carefully observed and questioned by the Korean staff when you make copies? Have ever been asked:
1. the purpose of the copies,
2. EXACTLY how many copies you plan on making,
3. for which classes the copies will be used and
4. the necessity of some of the documents which you have selected to copy.

Hahah, this reminds me of my boss in Ulsan. He bought this 10,000,000 won xerox machine. But! - he used it to make copies of all the Let's Go books in the series for all 500 students. The machine would breakdown every other day and he wondered why, getting angry all the time at the repairmen. I mean, what did he expect making five thousand copies/day.Also, nobody else ever had a chance to use it. I swear he had it going on auto mode 24/7.

my school is great, except for the photocopier!!!

even on the lowest level it prints out dark, and jams every copy pretty much!

Our office photocopier is so good, it's too good- literally. It's about the size and weight of a subcompact car and does everything except brew coffee and whistle Dixie.
It was breaking down a lot over the holidays and flashing very disturbing error messages on the touch screen- regular joe-photcopier maintenance guy couldn't make heads or tails of it so they brought in 'the gunslinger' (some company specialist from out of town). It turns out our photocopier is designed for extremely high volume output and actually breaks down IF IT'S NOT USED OFTEN ENOUGH!

Most copiers I have seen at schools are subpar.

My secretary does all of my copying. She never breaks down, only occassionally jams, never seems to need a refill of toner and doesn't really require a repairman.

It doesn't help that my hagwon owners are often too cheap to get workbooks for the new textbooks, so I get saddled with photocopying. I really need it for those time-devouring word searches though.

Haha the dreaded photocopiers.
My school is a fancy type place but we have to use a computer printer / fax machine to do copies. It takes on average a minute per page and usually jams or sends through two pages at once (half the printout on each page) so you have to hang out while it copies. Bye bye breaks

Bit aged but it works OK. But when my boss had the smart idea of billing parents for all textbooks so its not used that much (except for the classes where the english textbooks are half in korean and I have to write up my own lessons and photocopy, gah!)

If you are working at a truly decent place... WHY WOULD YOU NEED TO COPY ANYTHING?
