I found a litta shoe store on the same side as Hamilton Hotel is on. Standing in front of Hamilton, walk to the left a short distance and you'll see a small shoe store on the corner of Itaewon road and a small alley that leads to the back alley where 3 Alley pub is. On the alley side of the corner store, there's a little entrance going down stairs to a small lower level store packed full of shoes.

I dont know about the place mentioned above, but
I will say this.

Many of the independent - that is Korean made, stores sell
shoes of extremely low quality. All of the shoes that I have
bought (some quite expensive) have fallen apart after a month
or so. Absolute crap.

Stick to brands that you know

I bought a pair of sandals at a shop in Itaewon on Tuesday for 38,000 Won, walked out of the store and about one block down the street before a strap broke. To the store's credit, they did give me a full refund without any hassle or trying to get me to buy another pair of shoes.

I know girls that bought expensive high heels in Itaewon and when the shoes were ready to pick up, they didn't fit well. The store owner didn't do anything to help them, and there was no refund. At least in a department store you have the guarantee.

I just bought some basketball shoes from Itaeweon not too long ago, and the major retailers had a good range of sizes. (I'm a US size 12) If your looking for athletic shoes, steer clear from the independent stores in Itaewon, because the ones I went to had REALLY shitty fakes on display.

Bewared of convincing fakes. There is a shoe store on the main strip in Itaewon that specializes in larges sizes, but I can tell you that after six years, almost all the shoes they sell there are low quality Chinese knock-offs that will maybe last for three months (if they fit at all). The guy charges real prices for knock-offs, I hope to hell someone busts him for it soon. Shouldn't knock-offs be cheaper?
