Just booked my flight to Manila for the last week of July. Anyone have some suggestions for things I should do off the beaten path? I plan on spending a lot of time at Manila Bay and trekking up to Bataan. What else do I have to see while I'm there?

Thanks

I would not spend anytime in Manila. One day in Makati is ok. Huge shopping mall there. Dont take any clothes, just buy them there. Better selection than anything in Korea and cheap. What have you seen in the philippines?

You are going to be in for a shock in Manila. I dont recommend going there unless you know someone. Tompatz is the one who can really guide you better than I can, you can try to search him and send him a pm.
I think there is a huge american cemetary somewhere in Manila from WW2. Not sure about museums. I think most people here just take a flights to Palawan, Boracay, Cebu or Davao. Manila just doesnt represent the beauty of the Philippines at all!! Research those places and see if there are any things that might interest you. My 2 cents worth! Smile

Thanks. After reading your first post I looked around a little more. There's a few things I want to see in Manila, but I'm gonna take a flight to Legazpi and swim with whale sharks. Then I'll probably catch a ferry to Boracay because I heard the beaches were awesome.
