I am starting my own pilot program
using this site exclusively. It will be
utilized until I get fired. Has the songs,
videos, lyrics, explanation. From the
song Doctor Robert :

JOHN 1980: "Another of mine. Mainly about drugs and pills. It was about myself. I was the one that carried all the pills on tour... later on the roadies did it. We just kept them in our pockets, loose, in case of trouble."

I use the odd Beatles song. I get far more mileage out of more up to date songs like Westlife Mylife.

The Beatles are getting pretty old would you teach an entire English program using entirly Frank Sinatra. Would you want to learn Korean using just Trot( Old Ajumma music)

You want some OLD ajumma music? Show them Gene Kelly giving free esl lessons to the little French kids in his neighborhood. From American In Paris:
I got Rhythm

Can ya dance?

But if you're really stuck on Beatles:
Ob-la-Di-Ob-la-da

Or... play the Tapping Game

Yea, I'm stuck on Kelly. Wink

OMG!... I had a nightmare about being trapped in the old fogies' norae bang with two new, K, 'best friends' listening to bizarrely syncopated, strangely orchestrated, K-crap the ajummas/ajoshies can't clap their hands in time to...

Of course, I've also had nightmares where I'm stuck in an elevator and forced to listen to nothing but West Life.

I use a few Beatles songs in my classes. This makes class fun for everyone, especially me!

This person has posted some cool Beatles material with noraebang style lyrics and some illustrations that might have some educational value.

This has got to be the most educational Beatles song, All Together Now.

The Beatles just didn't have the same impact in Korea. Korea was still a military dictatorship and very poor and conservative. What few hippies they had were rounded up and had their hair cut right in public.

I can imagine some of the students parents might remember some of the songs. "Yesterday" always gets a thumbs up because it's so familiar.

Here's one that might confuse them subjectwise. Could make them wonder why they're learning English, or that the Beatles were really eejits. Shocked

Just used a Beatles song, Birthday, for a grade 6 class. Some of the girls clapped their hands and said "thank you." Depends on the video you use and the right song, but they are very simple songs and the students like 'em.
