I was thinking about having fish and chips for breakfast tomorrow at the Wolfhound Pub. Then I started thinking about 3 Alley Pub and the other places that have them. What are your recommendations? What kind of chips did you get? How crispy were the fish? Overcooked?
Sorry, I could have turned this into a poll but I wanted to hear from people rather than see votes. |

They're fries rather than chips at both of those places. Too thin for fish and chips but in the absence of an alternative they'll do. Fish was pretty average in both places, not bad but not amazing.
I did read on here something about an Australian place that does good fish and chips in Itaewon. I can't remember then ame nor have I ever been so can't comment, might be worth a search though. |

No,no. I've had the fish and chips at the Wolfhound. I was looking for some comparisons. The f&c at the Australian place is way overrated. You get two skimpy pieces and the fish is low quality. Plus, it's nonsmoking and the owner is kind of slimy. |

Sorry, I misunderstood... Can't help you I'm afraid. I only went to those two places and have decided not to bother again until I get home, that way I'll really appreciate it. Fish and chips with Henderson's Relish and a pint of Guiness. |

Only fish and chups I've had here were at the Kings Tap before the lease holder gipped them. They weren't great, the fish was a strange seasoned mashup of fish. Still, would have rather seen the place stay open. |

When did the King's Tap shut?? I assume you mean the one in Sinchon? I was there not so long ago. |

Having tried both, I am going to say Wolfhound (*gasp* I am usually just a stern supporter of 3A). And btw, to the poster who says that Wolfhound serves *fries*... it's not true. They do *wedges* styles chips. The fish is pretty much the same in both places, though. |

I was always under the impression that "chips" was British terminology for American "fries". Is that not the case?
Also, tzechuk. If I ever see you in 3 Alley's pub, you want to roll for a Jager? |

Ah. It's a 3 Alley tradition. Basically rolling 5 dice out of a cup to roll poker style. Best out of 3 gets you a shot of Jagermeister courtesy of the other person. |

Except chips are thicker than fries. If somebody said fries in the UK I would think thin, McDonalds-style. If they say chips I think of the thicker style you get in fish and chip shops.
PS Wedges are disgusting. I have no idea why anybody would volunteer to eat potato skin. |
