Yes, I did and I saw the memo for this round of (July-Aug) summer English camps put on by the POE, and we will get paid again.

Where? If you read my previous posts, you can easily figure out what province I am talking about.

If your goal is to get paid for camps, that is not a good enough reason to come here, but that's my opinion. Go to Seoul. The big money is in the big cities.

You work at the Yangjeong office? Then you don't work at a school then.

Anyway, either you are lying or my school is lying, but I was told the contract is going to be followed to the word this year, mainly because of the large number of new teachers.

Anyway, good luck.

I wasn't in Busan, but I suspected my school of lying about things and telling me it was province-wide as a justification. Of course if you call the head office, they will back up your school on whatever weasel move they're trying to pull. In my case, the school was trying to change the contract ("sign this paycut amendment! everyone's contract is changing! really! of course once you meet other local people in EPIK and ask them about this and they have no idea what you are talking about, you may begin to suspect but we don't care about looking like shady lying jerks anyway!") so even after I got no help from head office I still refused to budge.

LOl I do both Very Happy 1/3 and 2/3 yo.....was a sweet gig for a long time.

But, YES you are right they are going to get really bad about the contracts now. Even being a bit shitty with me which IS not normal in my situation.

But, as to summer camp your school is just jacking you. Sorry!! They can make you desk sit sure but, they cannot make you do camps BECAUSE the students pay extra for the camps and they charge for the room, electricity and YES for your Co. Just say no or tell them to pay you. OR they could send you somewhere else and have you teach But, only semi regular classes. I heard the no-summer camp pay for YEARS it is the school getting extra cash for something that's it.

As, to CURRENT new teachers 13 of busan didn't re-sign 14 did. The half that did surprised me Very Happy also, there have been several runners since march.

There is a somewhat new amendment started in February that I surmise is going to cause a whole lot of anger and heart ache. I been arguing for weeks about it. However, I guess a lot of newbies where told in training so I guess they will just assume its normal. However, I pointed out this wasn't in the contract. But, some people who get to make the decisions have decided that this is what your contract means even if it does not actually say it.

Return tickets home will be reimbursed 30 days AFTER they have verified you have left the country with immigrations. you MUST be out of the country 10days from contract finish and fly out of Incheon airport

Severance will be reimbursed 30days AFTER you leave and they subtract all the fees or bills they find you may owe.
and with that
you must turn your Passport over to you admin so the can count the amount of days you were out of the country. So you have exactly 14day of vacation. What that means is 14day out of the country. YES, weekends count. so head to the ferry once a month for weekend trip to japan and you will OWE your school money. I am pretty sure a lot of people are going to lose there severance pay. Because it was up to the schools if you could leave or not and lots of people i know took a month here a week here exc. LOL heck I went to the Cheba for chousoke so 5daysvacation was used for that becuse I was out of the country

anyway, My contract is almost up and I informed them yesterday I would be headed out. Very Happy I think this time around in Korea is finishee so see what country is next.....hummm This is my second round of teaching in Korea and these have been a decent few years better than my first trip over hehe

However, MANY countries are becoming viable now money wise so it's time to explore

I'm waiting for the fight, but this will be the first time in some number of years that I don't do a paid camp. I'm not a desk-sitter.

That sucks. I have an unavoidable post 10 days departure.

They'll pay me according to law--15 days after the contract. They aren't having my passport.
