For allegedly hosting an American in her home in violation of her house arrest. The repression in Burma continues.

Apparently she is quite ill as well.

For meaningful change to come to Burma the international community needs to lean on Singapore. Singapore Technologies, the state owned arms company, is a (if not the) primary arms and tech suppliers to the junta. The Burmese domestic surveillance apparatus was built by ST, modeled after the system that the Singaporeans built for their country. The generals keep their money in SG (as does Mugabe and others) and receive medical care there, frequently. Than Shwe's son attends Singapore Management University and meanders around the city with an entourage of security.

Clearly not ready for any type of democracy. Who cares unless they have nukes?
