|
|
Just wondering if anyone here knows the different ways a foreigner can get citizenship in Korea without marrying a Korean woman or living there for ten years?
I am not interested personally but would be interested in knowing since
some countries have an economic citizenship program whereby the buyer contributes money to an official program and gets naturalization and a passport from the country. Does Korea have anything similar to this or what do they have?
Thanks, FREEDOM |

Yes, they do. I believe it's 50K US initial investment for a D8 visa and when you have that for 5 years they will give you permanent residency. I am not sure how long it takes to transfer from PR to citizenship though. |

50K is for a D8, I believe citizenship requires 500k. You can also get an F5 now by employing 20 koreans, no money limit.
The only other way is through special dispensation from a government official. You basically gotta save his life or something.
Otherwise you're marrying. |

That's what I said. 50K for a D8, then after 5 years on a D8 you can ask for an F5, and after a number of years you can acquire citizenship. I am just not sure how long. |

No, I don't think you can get citizenship off that without investing more/having more capital. In order to get to citizenship I think you need to hit 500k, not 50k. |
