For whatever reason, my apartment refuses to stay cool. I still have to sleep with my AC unit on. It's been cooler lately, but still not cool enough I suppose.  |

| I do... but I'm always overly hot for whatever reason. The temperature is finally supposed to dip this week, which has me ecstatic. |

| mine's on, except at night. it feels great outside, it's just the officetel window doesn't let enough air in. if i had a fan, that'd probably be enough. |

| I like the artificial cool dry feeling. I tried turning it off a few times, but I still like it. It's just not cool and dry enough yet to warrant killing the A/C. When it comes almost time, it's going to quickly get chillier than any A/C unit can make it. Comfy sleep where you need a warm blanky is what's it's all about. |

actually ive only been running it maybe one hour a day now and opting for the sliding door/balcony windows open and the door open. it gives my room a real good breeze-thru. theres only 3 other people that live on my floor so theres enough privacy to leave the door open. although my cat did escape and i found her on the 2nd floor scared out of her mind. (i live on the top 7th floor.) |

At one of my schools, a few of the foreign teachers left on their AC ALL DAY even when they were at work. They wanted to come home to a cool apartment.  |

I've done that since coming back from vacation to a 90 degree appt which could only cool down to 85 degrees, with AC on, and only cooled into the 70's when it started raining.
I'm on top floor of my building (3rd) and it's like an oven in the summer and my small AC unit sucks (and I can't replace it even though the school offered to.. landlord refused since it it would involve alteration/making a hole that couldn't be easily fixed.
looks like I'll get hit with a bill of 200K, when I kept AC off during schooltime hours, the bill was 150K .
I don't mind the extra 50.
I won't be turning off the ac till outside nighttime lows get below 65 degrees, preferably 60.. which should happen later this week. |

| We've been keeping the AC on whenever we're at home.....I tried sleeping without it but I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like a menopausal woman having hot flashes. It's so hot that when we come home, until the AC kicks in well enough we're walking around in undergarments. A little nervous about what our utility bill will be like this month as weve only been here a month and I have absolutely no idea what to expect!! Eek. |

i sometimes do that, nothing better to after sweating on the walk home in the heat and the humidity to come back into a nice cool apartment. It makes that first cigarette when you get home all the more better too. who the hell is paying 150k on leccy? my highest bill has been around 35k
Not really using AC anymore just open the windows except when it raining. I don't wear clothes in the house so the room temp is fine these days. |

i do when I'm home, I like the air dry. Also i live next to an open lot so the air is dusty so windows open is rare |

where do you live that your bill is so high. I haven't paid more than 40 this summer and i have the air on all the time |

| If you live in an officetel, then your giant floor to ceiling bay windows, which are single paned and not thermo sealed, are whats bleeding all of your cold air. In the winter it will bleed all of your heat too. |

| It was 30 C all weekend so I spent the last few days of summer at the beach. Tomorrow is the fall equinox and yet I still sleep all night with the air conditioner AND fan on. |

where do you live that your bill is so high. I haven't paid more than 40 this summer and i have the air on all the time |
on 3rd (top) floor of a Korean appt building. There are tons of similar appts in the area I live in.
I had the AC looked at the first summer I was here, and was told it's an old and small unit that does a shitty job of cooling but sucks up electricity like a sponge.
the landlord won't let me replace it because installing a new one would put a big hole in the drywall, not easily fixable.
If the place weren't ideally situated, a short walk from school, and close to gym, Paris Baguette and a local park, I would have switched appartments a long time ago.
I've been runnning it non stop since Aug 20.. my bill will be 200K
I suppose the good news is that my heating costs in winter are quite low and I generally don't like a warm room in the first place.
btw.. I turned off the AC earlier today, on Monday.
The room temp quickly got up to about 78-79 and despite the fan being on, it also felt a bit sticky/humid so I turned the AC back on immediately.
and on it will stay, until nighttime temps get to 60 or so... which should happen late this week.
I'm also going to sleep with both the AC and fan on  |
