At one of my schools I work at there are a couple of mentality handicapped girls that don't really get along. One talks my ear off and says they love me. The other one is really quiet and hardly talks at all. They both act immature compared to their real age and are usually brushed off in class.
Well the one who talks alot made a comment, in Korean about how I was a foreigner and something to the like. I didn't think anything of it, but the other quiet girl was there also and she got all up in arms and started saying in Korean "There are many foreigners in Korea and we are one blah blah blah" from what I understood with my limited Hanguel abilities. I was shocked that this of all girls could understand something so simple/difficult that so many "normal" people in Korea cannot. I was really inspired and gave her a big high five!
That really made my day. Then she was quiet again.... |
