Man, tried that Google Chrome, the new browser, and it is FAST.

Makes even this site about 20 times faster (no exaggeration with the numbers). I only used it a few times and have not noticed any bugs yet, but it seems to be in the beta stage, as of yet. The design philosophy was lean in functions (except some of the bare necessities--who the heck uses all of those buttons anyway?) but fast above all else. Because it isnt the ubiquitous Internet Explorer, it hasnt been virus prone yet.

Ive been using Firefox all this time, but that browser uses up way much CPU, even with the enhancements suggested online here and there, making the browser even slower than IE sometimes.

Moderators, please don't move this thread to the Tech forum, which will insure that this thread will be seen by only a few. I wanted to see what other people have experienced in its use, if any.

I tried all browsers, and finally settled down with Maxthon. Although it is not main stream browser. it has been closer to a perfect browser except these days Chrome made maxthon less attractive to me when dealing with websites that usually take a while to open in other browsers. ( ex, Dave's)

Chrome has its major flaw, though

It cant open new links or show your google search results in a new tab...

You're right, it is much faster...and there is not a lot of menu crap at the top of the browser page, which I hate. Thanks for the tip Xerxes!

i'm loving opera 10 beta. Gave opera a go about 2 years ago and I have never looked back. everyone i have introduced to opera loves it.

Fast, lite on resources, can do as much or as little as you like. has rss, email, torrent, widgets. all can be enabled or disabled as needed. The only thing I don't like is the latest skin but It is easy as hell to skin it back to version 9.1

damn I sound like a fan boy

Does Firefox really use that much CPU? I can be using about 20 windows and barely notice any difference, even if I load up a CPU intensive game at the same time. Well, quad core aside... Laughing

Use Chrome all the time. Love it.

IE 8 is good but will punish you with a virus if you do something dumb.

Firefox.......people seem to love it....but I don't see why. I don't like it's bookmarks GUI.

Haven't tried Opera for a long time. Might give it another go.

Actually, Chrome does all I want.

Do you mean you can open the link you type in the address bar in a new tab but not covering the current one?

I cant do that, who tell me Y? Shocked

Update: I just checked, it says the new Chrome for Mac does have the function to open links in new tabs.

I am a little confused with what you are saying. Do you mean that if I type in an address in the address bar it opens in a new window?

I find the use of tabs is one of the best things about Chrome.

Yes, that is what I meant, for example, you want to check out "what is chrome" when you read this thread , you can just type in the search bar and click, the results will automatically show in a new tab next to this Dave's page.

I dont think Chrome can do it, you have to right click to open a new tab. and then type.

So far Maxthon has been the easiest one to handle, not to mention its mouse gestures (it really saves me a lot of time), and its menu can be designed according to your own flavor... It is not as fast as chrome, but never slower than Opera, Opera wouldnt function in many websites, which is the main reason I am not using it.

(Maxthon is not very facebook friendly though, it could be a major problem for those fb addicted)

Chrome doesnt support my instant translation tool, either.
Chrome sells your browsing history to others who use your chrome.

Just being nit-picking anyway.
