Earlier this year, I accepted a job and was given a visa confirmation number from the school, but before going to the consulate and applying for and receiving the actual visa, circumstances forced me to pull out. Would this prevent me from getting a visa this year, now that I'm able to do so? Even though a visa was never issued, I'm wondering whether there would be any sort of black mark associated with my name because of this. Thanks. |

I doubt anyone could tell you exactly the answer to that unless they had gone through the same thing as you.
My educated guess would be that there would be no problems as immigration could care less if you came over in the first place, and the school/academy can't really claim any major because of it, unless there was a plane ticket purchased. If a school/academy calls immigration and says that "John Smith" owes them 1.5 mil for lost damages, then it can be difficult for John Smith to get a new visa, while not impossible.
I would say, take the steps to get going. Get a contract, send your information, let the school/academy apply. If they get a visa issuance number, then you are good to go, if they don't, you are SOL. |
