2. Program Description
*The institute operates three language courses: a 20-week day course, a 20-week evening course, and a 10-week evening course. The students are all adults. In the 20-week day and evening courses, students include government officials, university students and business people. In the 10-week evening course, separate classes are offered for university students and for business people.
*Classes are non-credit.
*The 20-week day course is an intensive English program, with students attending class daily from 9:30am to 4:20pm. Among the subjects taught are Practical English, Audio/Video, Discussion, Public Speaking, Pronunciation, Listening Learning to Speak, TOEIC, TOEFL and Reading and Writing.
*The evening courses teach many of the same subjects. Students in the 10-week course attend classes 8 hours per week, and students in the 20-week course attend classes 15 hours per week.
*Students are highly motivated, and classes are small, with between 12 and 15 students.
*Courses run 40 weeks per year. Additional short-term language training programs are frequently taught in between two 20-week sessions.
3. Instructor Responsibilities
*Instructors teach a minimum of 20 hours per week, though more hours are usually available.
*Instructors generally teach classes in not only the day course, but in the evening courses as well.
They teach between 2 to 6 hours during the day, each class lasting either one or two hours, and frequently teach additional hours (between 1.5 and 4 hours) in the evening, between the hours of 5:40 and 9:20pm. Total daily teaching hours are variable, though not exceeding 8 hours.
*Each instructor teaches a variety of subjects, up to 4, and meets with a number of different student groups (classes) each week, up to 6.
4. Working Conditions
*Full-time work at the Foreign Language Testing and Training Center on the Imun Campus (Seoul) of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies
*One-year contract, renewable for another year on good standing
*Health insurance: 40% paid by the university, nationalized plan.

The Foreign Language Training Center at Korea National University of Education (located in the vicinity of Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, Korea) is looking for a few skilled Native English Language Instructors for our Intensive English Teacher Training Program.
1. Purpose of Training Program
1) To improve Korean English teachers' communicative competence.
2) To practice their instructional skills of Teaching-English-Through-English (TETE).
2. Brief Description of Training Program
1) This Intensive Program is sponsored from Korea Government, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development. This program has been and will have been improving English Education and English Teachers� communications skills in Korea.

(1) Academic Program
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
IFLS is located in a new seven-story building, and provides Korea University with academic classes in Freshman Practical English, as well as a wide variety of elective courses in English. IFLS also provides non-credit classes to university students, children, and to the general public.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The current standard academic teaching load per semester is 18 hours; however, most instructors teach 19-20 hours (additional hours are compensated). Each term runs 16 weeks and classes are scheduled Monday through Friday. If there is a need, instructors may be required to teach up to an additional 4 hours per week of non-credit enrichment classes during each term (adult students only). Instructors are also responsible for class-related administrative paperwork, student counseling, and committee work (rarely required). Combined with teaching duties, this brings the total number of hours a foreign teacher is on campus to approximately 28 hours a week.
In addition to the eight-month academic calendar, all instructors are required to teach an additional two months during the winter/summer term break, if needed. However, they receive extra pay for all hours taught during the term breaks.
All faculty members are expected to attend occasional faculty meetings, and to assist with ongoing curriculum and program development. Traditionally, these have involved little time.
Contracts are for one year and may be renewed up to two times at the discretion of the university (total 3 years).
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Native English speaker
* Master of Arts or Science degree required (English, TESOL, or other related field preferred)
* University-level, overseas and/or Korean teaching experience a strong plus
SALARY AND BENEFITS
* Base salary for the first contract year is 3,117,410 Won per month, or 37,409,000 Won per year. This is for 18 hours of teaching per week in the spring and fall term terms. The base salary for the second, and subsequent, contract years is 3,294,660 Won per month, or 39,536,000 Won per year.

1. POSITION: Visiting Professor
-Contract period is for one year, from March 2006 to February 2007.

- non-tenure track: two year, contract-renewable twice
2) Qualifications
Master's degree or above in TESOL or English Language & Literature (or Applied linguistics, Primary and Secondary education in English, other education-related fields), minimum 2 years of teaching experience. NEST only.
3) Duties
- teach 12 hours a week
- student advising
- participate in curricular and instructional activities as needed
- overtime with extra pay available at the university or affiliated institutes
