Are you banging the 과외s hard? Did you bang'em a little too hard?

If you were fined for helping Koreans learn English, how much?

If you were deported, do you think there is something you could have done differently to not get the boot?

My 'friend' is curious but I want to prove to him it's not worth the risk.

I noticed the private lessons sticky got removed so here we go...

Nope, and I've never known or heard of anyone being caught, either.

Heard of one lass getting caught, but she wasn't just doing privates but was here on a tourist visa as well, and teaching in a kindy. I did privates for 3 years HEAVILY, and never worried once. Treat it as it is, an illegal activity, and you'll be fine. Banked more than 80K in 3 years because of that though, but now I'm leaving for an ESL job that lets me bank at least that each year, so I'm a happy camper.

I also worked w/a teacher who was teaching on a tourist visa - some years ago - immi actually called her and am not sure about the conversation other than it was time for her to go - she left for the airport the very next day.

so basically she wasn't fined or officially deported but she would have been I suppose if she hadn't left on her own volition - after strong encouragement, apparently.
