Hi,

My girlfriend and I live in Incheon, but wanted to catch a show tonight in Hongdae. As the trains will be down for the night by the time it's over, and we don't wanna pay the cab fare home, we're looking to stay in town. So if anyone can recommend a relatively inexpensive spot to stay that's easy enough to find for some folks don't know seoul to well it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Around Tapgol Park in Jongno 3 Ga there are a lot of love motels. They can be from 40,000 to 80,000 won. It's not terribly convenient to Hongdae, but the cab isn't too much. I can't remember what exactly it cost, but I think less than 20,000. I've stayed in Jongno before and taken a taxi from Hongdae.

I went to Seoul 3 weeks ago and took the advice from an old post on going to Sadang. Came up out of exit 2, seen bright flashy strobing lights, western beer bars, and Koreans getting crazy on drinking import beer, walked a minute through this circus, and seen cool looking science fiction looking motels that look like small high rise hotels all decked out in lights that slowly change colors. Each of the half dozen or so places side by side were 70,000 won a night and included a fully equipped room like a miniturized version of 5* hotel room. Nice big wall mounted HDTV, remote to every electronic device in the room, all marble floor and fixtures, fast PC, jacuzzi, and even a hangover drink was included all for one low price of 70,000 won plus 1,000 more for a baggie with toothpaste, toothbrush, uknown packets, and condoms. Welcome to a taste of planet K.
