I don't want to spend a fortune (900,000) and I have no Idea about these Korean brands. What is a good purchase if you just need it for downloading, watching movies, MSN and Skype??

I will probably go to Yongsan to buy one..

Thanks your help

Well, pretty much ANY computer can do those things.

I would suggest an external hard drive as well if you're downloading a bit. Save wear and tear on your main drive (as well as avoid heat buildup).

Why don't you take a look at danawa.com. You can choose many brands with good specs and suitable with your money. I think Korean brand is not a good Idea (the laptop usually becomes hot when use in a long time). I prefer Fujitsu or Dell (for Dell you can order online at dell.co.kr) or HP.
One tip when you want to buy laptop in Yongsan: select the laptop on danawa.com that you want (it's usually cheaper than at stores near Yongsan stn.), and then look at the address of the store on the website (usually it will be behind Yongsan stn. and not very far), ask a Korean friend to call to the store to make sure that they have the laptop, and make reservation. Then just come there to pay (cash, not card) and take the latop.

Good luck!

Thanks, appreciate that. I bought a HP last year and it's ^&*^* already. I just wondered what a good brand model would be a more sound purchase.... anyone have any further pearls of wisdom!!?

Spend 400k, get an entry level desktop in a mini tower with a cheap LCD monitor and 500 gig HDD for your movies.

You will spend less than 1/2 what you would spend for a laptop AND you will get double the capacity and performance.

Sell it off, give it away or send it home (they do travel OK if you keep the original box and foam packing). 48k sends it home when you are done (or if it is a mini tower you can pack it in a suitcase with your laundry and take it with you.
