|
|
I'm looking to buy a new digital camera (not a DSLR but something for taking travel pics) and would like one that can be used anywhere re: battery type and charger. So a few questions:
Are there any cameras that can be charged via the USB port?
The cameras that do have the built-in batteries--is it pretty easy to recharge those anywhere (voltage)?
What cameras would you recommend that are both lightweight and not too expensive? |

| Have a look at the Canon IXUS line, specifically the IS (Image Stabilisation) models. Great pocket-sized cameras that take grat pics. |

Yes, and every Canon IXUS I've owned came with a worldwide charger (100-240V) too. You'll need plug adapters depending on which country you go to, but the voltage won't be a problem. |

You could also look at cameras that take double AA batteries, as those are the ultimate travel cameras, as you'll never be far away from AA batteries. You can buy quality rechargeable batteries for 15k at e-mart.
Some of Canon's point and shoots have double AA batteries.
As always: www.dpreview.com (don't get too caught up in the specs though, at the end of each review check to see if it's 'recommended' or 'highly recommended'.) |
