Hi,
My first post here, just could do with some advice in relation to E2 visa and handing in notice, to teach in a new school. We've had numerous contract conflicts and it now seems our working relationship with our manager is unworkable. Very unhappy, we think the best solution is to leave, as from day one we've had problems as they had bought us over on a completely different contract to what they expect of us. We tried to re-negotiate the contract, but they have gone back on what was agreed initially. For example we tried to ask for clarification on why we were working 6 days this week, when in the contract it says 5 days... our manager just ignored us and didnt speak to us. We literally stood there for 5 minutes with her saying nothing, just walked out in the end.
As you can see completely unworkable relationship, 2nd month here now... and we've had more disputes than my whole working life combined.
Would really appreciate some help and advice off anyone, so we acn leave this school in the best terms possible, if at all possible.

| It sounds as though you won't be able to leave on good terms and will end up doing a 'midnight run'. |

We just need the easiest, possible way out, where we can go to another school, any loopholes etc..? I know contracts dont mean much, but they havent really honoured anything. |

The best thing you can do is resign and follow the contract, and make sure you can prove you have done all you had to do (in case they file a complaint at immi and/or labor).
Go to immi, explain the problem (they will already bother your boss with questions), get it in writing that your visa will be canceled on said day.
Find new employment, sign the contract, go to immi, do a visa run est voila. |

Can we not get the Visa transferred to a new employer? is there a link anywhere for updated rulles and regulations for the E2 visa? |

Can we not get the Visa transferred to a new employer? is there a link anywhere for updated rulles and regulations for the E2 visa? |
You can only transfer the visa with your current employer's permission. The visa 'belongs' to him/her and not you.
If your employer doesn't want to transfer the visa then you will have to do a new visa run. |

How likely is that? I tend to think not, or can immigration office get involved, cos we signed a different contract to what we've been faced with, just causing all sorts of problems for us, getting a bit tired of it all. |
