i lived near one in japan. seems like they were perpetually preparing for sports day. blowing whistles in rhythmic patterns and shouting

BANZAI!!!! BANZAI!!!!

while little kids did their 10 meter dashes.

It's kind of sad that you consider that noise.

In Shanghai I lived just across the street from an elementary school. Every morning students would be led through their exercises by a shrill voice played over a bad PA system. I always thought of those PA announcements as a not so subtle reminder of where I was and how lucky I was to be there.

It's really an amazing kindergarten, as it organizes field trips, has had a petting zoo setup on its ground, and occasionally had weddings on its ground.

Is it just me or is EVERYWHERE becoming a wedding hall in Korea?

Yeah, the Koreans are way louder than Chinese.
