A few mornings ago I counted seven people that I was in physical contact with at one time - it was pretty awesome, in the true sense of the word, 'inspiring awe'. Anybody get a higher count than that? |

me too, I will start counting
I've been thinking that when line 9 opens it will take some of the pressure off line 2. Am I just being wishful? |

I think the problem is just poor civil engineering - I mean, everyone works in Gangnam, it's where half the train gets off, but yet only one train line runs there! If they could somehow divert the 7 to pass through Gangnam (or any other line, for that matter) it wouldn't be nearly as bad.
Where is the 9 supposed to run? |

The most crowded I ever saw the subways was Dec. 31, 1999. The escalators downtown were so overcrowded they were moving backward. |

It's running along the Han river, and while it doesn't pass through Gangnam station, it should ease up some of the traffic on there. |

Line 7 at Nonhyeon Station is a straight walk downhill, no more than ten minutes, to Kyobo Tower (then another 10 minutes max to Gangnam Station). Additionally, Sinsa Station on Line 3 is about a 10 minute walk in a straight line, up and over a hill, to Nonhyeon. There is a stop at Kyobo Tower on Line 9 - I think it's called SinNonhyeon. Should make the whole area a bit easier for the commuter crowds. |

This is a clip from Japan of passengers literally being packed into subway cars. I love YouTube. |

A couple of years ago a group of us were boarding the train from Gangnam heading towards Sindorim at around 11pm on a Sat night.
The train was so full that one my friends rode for a couple of stops barely touching the floor, he had zero control over his movment and just had to move the the wave of people everytime the train cornered and bumped
very funny to watch |

Who would subject themselves to that? I'd rather walk, cycle, taxi, bus or car!! There must be an alternative! |

often the only alternative to subway is being stuck in traffic for a couple hours. |

That was me on my very first day in Tokyo when I used the subway during rush hour. What made it even worse was that I carrying a large backpack at the time. |
